community

Recognizing the importance of social responsibility, we offer our employees a number of ways to get involved in serving their communities.

Pro Bono Work

When possible, we provide pro bono advisory services to charities, academic institutions and community organizations, applying our unique skills and knowledge from the corporate world to the nonprofit sector. While the benefits to the organizations we advise may seem obvious, the benefits of these engagements to our consultants are likewise substantial. In particular, they offer:

  • Exposure to the diverse range of business issues faced by nonprofit organizations
  • Interaction with board-level clients early in a consultant's career
  • A chance expand the consultant's and the firm's professional network
  • The opportunity to give something back to the community

Development Placements

Through our collaboration with UK charity Business in the Community, our London office offers six-month work placements in nonprofit organizations and government agencies. These placements allow consultants to broaden their professional experiences by exposing them to new ways of working and levels of responsibility that they would not expect to get so early in their careers.

Local Community Activities

Another way we contribute is through each office’s participation in community events and programs. These events can range from teaching days in local schools to construction days helping build affordable housing. For more on our community activities in each office, visit Marakon in the Community.
